How Sircle uses Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Sircle is an RICS-registered firm, and we use Artificial Intelligence (AI) carefully and responsibly in delivering our services. AI supports our staff; it does not replace their professional judgement or responsibility.
Our goal is simple: AI should enhance, not undermine, the quality, reliability and trust you expect from our RICS‑regulated services.
Our approach to AI
Our approach to AI follows the RICS global professional standard on the responsible use of AI in surveying practice click here. This includes:
- We use AI to improve quality and efficiency, not to cut corners.
- We protect your confidential information and personal data when using AI tools.
- Humans stay in charge – our staff review and are accountable for any AI‑assisted work.
Where we use AI
We may use AI in limited, practical ways, mainly to support our internal work and some parts of our services, for example:
- Drafting support for internal notes and draft reports, which are then checked and signed off.
- Summarising large sets of survey notes or technical information.
- Checking documents for gaps or possible errors before they are issued.
Human oversight and decisions
RICS makes it clear that AI must not replace professional judgement. We follow that requirement.
- Any AI‑generated content or analysis is reviewed and, if needed, corrected by our staff.
- AI tools do not make final decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
- Our people are trained on the limits and risks of AI, including the risk of error or bias.
How we protect your data
Our use of AI is covered by our Privacy Notice and the data governance rules in the RICS professional standard.
- We do not use your confidential information or personal data to train public AI models.
- We only share data with AI providers where it is necessary, lawful and properly covered by contract.
- Our security measures apply to all systems we use, including AI tools.
Governance and transparency
As an RICS‑registered firm, we are required to comply with the RICS professional standard on responsible AI use. In practice, this means we:
- Keep policies, an AI system register and an AI risk register under regular review.
- Ensure only trained staff use AI tools.
- Apply our privacy, security and confidentiality controls to all AI‑related processing.
- Where the use of AI has a material impact on the delivery of our services, we will explain how it is used.
