We undertake our first measured surveys at Shelley Manor in Bournemouth and the Royal Marines in Poole.

Topscan launches
Alisdair Lamplugh launches Topscan, as we were known then, delivering document scanning and CAD services to M&E contractors on the south coast of England.

1957

First image scanner developed
The first image scanner developed for use with a computer was built at the US National Bureau of Standards by a team led by Russell A. Kirsch. The first image ever scanned on this machine, known as a Drum Scanner, was a 5 cm square photograph of Kirsch’s three-month-old son. The black and white image had a resolution of 176 pixels.
