Building Height Survey

Home/Services/Compliance/Building Height Survey

A Building Height Survey involves determining the vertical distance from the lowest external ground level adjacent to the building to the finished floor surface of its top storey, excluding rooftop machinery or plant areas. This measurement is critical for classifying buildings under the Building Safety Act 2022:

  • Relevant Buildings: At least 11 meters tall or with five or more storeys, containing at least two dwellings.
  • Higher-Risk Buildings: At least 18 meters tall or with seven or more storeys, containing at least two residential units.

All surveys should adhere to the measurement criteria outlined in Section 118 of the Building Safety Act 2022, ensuring accurate and compliant assessments.

Ensure your project’s compliance and safety from the outset. Our Measured Building Height Surveys deliver precise, regulation-aligned measurements essential for determining a building’s classification under the Building Safety Act 2022. Utilising advanced surveying techniques, we provide detailed reports that support risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning.
