Associate Director of MEP Services

Hybrid – North of Birmingham, with travel to client sites as required

Sircle is a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in surveying, digital data capture and delivery of built asset information. We provide our clients with a wide range of information on their properties from Basic Building outline drawings to highly detailed Revit models that includes all MEP services. Our clients include high-profile public and private sector clients. The Senior MEP Engineer will play a key role in delivering technically robust, data-driven MEP projects that support client decision-making and the continued growth of Sircle’s services

The Senior MEP Engineer will manage and deliver MEP projects from inception to completion, ensuring that surveys, drawings, reports and technical outputs meet the agreed scope, programme and budget. Working closely with the Associate Director of MEP Services, the role combines hands-on technical delivery, day-to-day project management and mentoring of engineers and surveyors within the team.

  • Working alongside the account manager, act as a primary point of contact for designated projects, coordinating with clients, stakeholders and internal teams to manage expectations and communications
  • Lead the delivery of allocated MEP surveying projects, managing scope, programme, budget, delivery and quality on a day-to-day basis.
  • Prepare and maintain project plans, risk registers and progress reports, escalating issues and proposing solutions to the Associate Director where required.
  • Plan, undertake and review MEP surveys, inspections, asset condition surveys across mechanical, electrical and public health systems.
  • Manage junior engineers and CAD technicians assigned to projects, ensuring adherence to Sircle processes, procedures and standards, and successful delivery within agreed timescales and financial budgets.
  • Produce clear, accurate reports, drawings, schedules and technical outputs that support our clients property management, lifecycle planning and compliance assessment.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with relevant UK regulations, standards and client requirements, and conduct appropriate technical and quality assurance reviews.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and technical support to junior engineers, surveyors and technicians working on MEP projects.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of standard templates, procedures and best-practice guidance to drive consistency and efficiency in project delivery.
  • Support onboarding and skills development within the MEP team through coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Assist with preparation of fee proposals, resource plans and project budgets, providing input on scope, programme and resourcing assumptions.
  • Monitor project performance against KPIs, including utilisation, profitability and programme, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Support business development activity by contributing technical content to estimates and bids, attending client meetings and helping to identify repeat business and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Use and champion digital data capture tools, mobile survey platforms and structured data solutions to improve productivity, consistency and data quality across MEP projects.
  • Provide feedback on processes, templates and technology to support continuous improvement within the MEP division and the wider business.
