We are a registered company of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, members of the Fire Protection Association. We have in recent years recruited a director to lead Project Management, Building Surveying and Statutory compliance, a Statutory Compliance Manager, an Associate Director to lead Project Management and a new Marketing manager and we are now looking for a Senior Fire Safety Consultant to join us. The Role:
- To provide specialist advice, project management, technical support and conduct Fire Safety Surveying Services and assessments as offered by Sircle.
- To work in association with the Compliance Manager and in a surveying and consultancy capacity for the provision of various client’s fire safety project work.
Salary/Package:
- Circa £48-56k (depending on experience), company car or car allowance (a clean driving license is required), performance related bonus, professional fees paid.
Key responsibilities:
To deliver the full range of Fire Safety surveying services carried out by Sircle, including but not limited to:
- Passive fire safety surveying – Conducting site-based inspections of passive fire protections measures including Fire doors, compartmentation, fire stopping and other fire protection elements within buildings offering proposed remedial repairs through to preparation of specification and design.
- Pre and post work inspections
- Conducting and validating Fire Risk Assessments
- To provide fire safety advisor role to assist our clients with their property portfolio. · Provide reports – highlighting any remedial action required and define solutions to any issues identified.
- Fire risk assessment review/Desktop audits/Gap analysis.
- Estimate and bid writing.
- Helping to manage associate surveyors and client projects.
- Ensure the health and safety of colleagues, customers, and the general public on all projects.
- Good knowledge of technical standards, fire risk assessment and fire safety law · Accountable for making a significant contribution to the operational and commercial performance of the fire safety services offered. Ideally have good understanding of Approved Document B, Health Technical Memorandum 05- 02, Building Bulletins, relevant British Standards
- Sound knowledge of fire-related standards and regulations · Work collaboratively across the business to ensure we have an integrated approach to service delivery, quality, and client focus.
- To assist on the operational use of software and provide recommendations to feed into IT strategic plans and reviews.
- Undertake regular communication with Client’s to co-ordinate programmes of inspections and remedial works.
- Use of strategic software solutions to conduct surveys and assessments such as Bolster, Riskbase etc.
- Working with the CAD team to establish fire compartmentation plans.
- Compliance Services – To work with the Compliance Manager to develop and deliver a broader service offer that could include Asbestos reinspection, legionella etc. Previous experience in this area is not essential, just a commitment to explore effective ways of delivering a strong compliance offer.
Essential Experience:
- Understanding of Fire Safety Regulatory Reform Order 2005
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and UK Fire Safety legislation and regulations
- Experience in the passive fire protection industry with knowledge of the systems and how they should be installed
- Strong technical delivery experience
- Carrying out Fire Safety Services surveys and production of Fire Safety reports
- Experience in using compliance-based technology
- Fire Risk Assessment including complex premises
- Monitoring systems to assess risk
- Business Development. Winning work from existing and new clients
- Clean driving license
Skills:
- Strong project management skills

Qualifications:
- Relevant Surveying, Asset Management or Construction Qualification.
- Must have membership to the IFE or IFSM · Desirable IFSM CRFAR/TRFAR or FRACS accredited.
- Ability to successfully lead on and manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner.
- Strong track record in management of projects from inception to completion
- Client-facing, ensuring high standards of technical delivery.
- Able to build long-term relationships.
- A track record of working with teams and prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines.
- A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious
- Candidates should be experienced in Passive Fire and have appropriate qualifications in the field. FDIS, ASFP, IFE Level 3 Passive Fire Protection or equivalent qualifications are desirable.
Desirable Experience:
• Broader knowledge of statutory compliance and related legislation
• Knowledge and passion for the use of technology to gather fire safety information.
