We’re looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join our expanding Building Surveying and Project Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and expand our Project Management and Building Surveying service offering. You must therefore be able to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate that passion for delivering across all aspects of the role.
Salary/Package: Circa up to £56,500K (depending on experience) performance-related bonus, professional fees paid
Reporting to: Senior Surveyor/ Associate Director
Location: Ideally in Midlands, UK. However, this is not essential

Purpose of the role:
- Provide a professional advisory service, embracing all areas of Building Surveying and Project Management and taking into account the wider Sircle service offered across the business
- Adapt the delivery methodology of Building Surveying and Project Management services
Key responsibilities:
- To deliver the full range of Building Surveying and Project Management and services carried out by Sircle, including but not limited to:
- Feasibility reports
- Specifications / schedule of works
- Issuing tender documents
- Running competitive tenders
- Managing multiple projects at the same time
- Producing contract documents
- Review and approving interim payments
- Managing change control
- Providing input to cost reports and cost forecasting
- Produce risk register
- Attend progress meetings
- Condition Surveys
- Life Cycle / Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys
- Latent Defect surveys
- Directly work alongside and manage site-based staff and external consultants working on all projects
- Undertake various building defect and condition surveys, reporting and advising clients on remediation strategy
- Ensure the health and safety of colleagues, customers and the general public on all projects
- Accountable for making a significant contribution to the operational and commercial performance of the Building Surveying and Project Management services offered
- Work collaboratively across the business to ensure we have an integrated approach to service delivery, quality and client focus
Essential Experience:
- Chartered Building Surveyor (RICS or CIOB)
- Excellent experience with defect analysis/building pathology and advising on remediation strategies
- Experience in undertaking a range of building surveys for example Life Cycle / Planned Preventative Maintenance, Schedule of Condition and Latent Defect surveys
- Experience in Project Management of projects from inception to completion
- Experience of working on NHS and public sector projects
- Experience of assessing risk management throughout projects
- Proven experience of managing site staff and external consultants
- Developing and delivering policies and procedures
- Specification writing skills
- Good understanding of JCT Contracts
- Experience in delivering the role of Contract Administrator
Skills:
- Strong Building Surveying and Project Management skills
- Good understanding and experience with JCT Contracts
- Strong specification writing skills
- Ability to extract relevant data and provide clear and concise reports for others
- Must be able to communicate effectively, in a clear, articulate and persuasive manner
- Confidence face-to-face client experience
- Competent in a range of IT software
- An eye for detail
Qualifications:
- Relevant Building Surveying or Construction qualification at degree level.
- Full membership of the RICS
Desirable Experience:
- Fire Safety surveys. Understanding fire safety compliance
- Broader knowledge of statutory compliance and related legislation
- Knowledge and passion of the use of technology to gather project data
- Business Development – Winning work from existing and new clients
- PFI project or survey work
